- Click "New Game"
- Configure SMOD: Tactical
- Walk through the gates to set your skill, special effects, gore, and enemy weapon skill

Is this multiplayer?
No, but SMOD: Damage by Houston is!
Its feature list isn't as robust as Tacical, but hey! you can play with your friends!!

This mod can be pretty hardware intensive!
People having issues with crashes please try the following.
If you do not have a DirectX 9 card you need to run this file while in game.
"exec screeneffect_dx8"
You won't get all the great effects... but oh well.
If your game is too laggy try these two commands.
"exec performance_recomm"
"exec gore_hl2"
If you are getting bugged with how you keep running into corpses.
"exec ragdollcollide_reduce"
Common Errors
- I can't get a weapon!?!
kill someone, or type "exec draw" to get starter weapon, or... cheat and type "exec all_tactical"(cheater) - I can't pick up or use old HL2 weaponsM
Those guns are for pussies, so just forget about them - I can't pick up a gun from my opponent, or any that I spawned (cheated) to get.
You are a soldier, not a pack mule! You can carry the following
1 pistol
1 shotgun
1 rifle
1 smg
1 heavy weapon - I get these weird boxes when I use a scope.
You don't have a DX9 card, or it's not working right. type "exec screeneffect_dx8". - I get a Steam crash when I start!
You do not have CS:S, HLDM, and HLLC installed

Hints:
- The grenades are realistic, and wont' make more than a slight "thump" or "clink" sound, so don't crowd cover, and always be ready to move!
- Use cover whenever possible, but rember not everything is bullet resisitant, make sure you find "HARD" cover when possible, and try not to crowd it.
- When multiple enemies surround you, and you are low on health, think tactics, and use grenades; pick one enemy to kill at a time. Use movement to avoid bullets. (Say there’s a wall, find where the enemy is, pop out for a second, shoot a few bullets, then go back behind the wall, then reposition)
- Hiding in the shadows and sneaking up on enemies doesn’t always work, so if you have the shot, take it!
- If low on ammo, try crouching through obstacles to avoid enemy fire, and pick up dead enemies weapons.
- Opponents are the most vulrable before they see you. When fighting a "bad guy", bring as much violence possible, while exposing yourself to the least amount of fire, but trying to take as many down as possible. If you face a group and only take one out, the others will react quicker next time you show your face, or worse... surround you.
Protip
Seek TIME, DISTANCE and COVER.Everything that works also doesn't.
